Hi everyone.
Has anyone here ever tried barefoot running? Isn't it dangerous to practice it, I mean I think that there's a higher possibility of injury.

Hey Chloe, haven't tried it but you know what some runners use Nike Free, since they say that it feels like running barefoot. interesting.

Hey sunny, Sorry haven't tried it, as I'm scared I might hurt my feet! lol.. but I've read so much about barefoot running.

something like childhood. i used to be barefoof in summers. and i ran - as every child. more on ground, less on asphalt. not bad.
a couple of years ago, i was participating in cross country marathon - in a forest. there was one lady who was running barefoot. just some kilometres, just for fun.

Barefoot running is only advisable if the surface is soft and free of debris. Sharp stones and branches will definitely hurt. Sand and grass are good - as long as there are no jagged stones or pieces of coral.

Just out of interest, there was a south african athlete who used to run competitively, barefoot. zola bud. she became british in order to compete at the olympics, and in the final collided with and tripped mary decker (think it was 1988?). she was a world champ at cross country too, not sure if she ran those barefoot tho.
If you're brought up in the bush, and used to no shoes maybe...but if like me, you're fragile, the knees and feet themselves could quicly get damaged
