I just have a question about hydration while on a marathon? How much should one be taking on average? Are there any guidelines when it comes to hydrating and calorie replacement?

According to studies it will be better if you drink the right amount of water (better if energy drink) before you do your warm-up exercises and before you start the actual exercise or marathon. But, it doesn't mean that you can't drink while your on the race you can drink water during a marathon race but be mindful. Don't drink water when your thirsty or dehydrated (a big no no!) because you might end up with stomach ache. While on the race It is more likely advisable you drink water time to time to replenish the lost liquid inside your body... I hope I'm a big help...

while training, drink much more water than your usual intake. during the marathon itself, you may wear fuel belts so that you don't have to always stop at water stations. add the fact that stopping, or slowing down to drink, also takes up your time.

Drinking a lot of water would help esp when you are still on training. Water renews the water which has come out from your body because of perspiration. Water also rejuvenates your energy and helps you keep going. You must consider it as your fuel.

water is really important... we need to bring lots of water especially when we are in a marathon. Because anytime we will get dehydrated and we need water immediately. But don't drink too much water because it might be achy in your stomach.
