does running or continuing jogging increase the risk of having arthritis? My workmate keeps on telling me to be careful, since if I decide to continue running then she says that there's a great risk to develop arthritis, is it true??

from what i know it hasn't been proven yet, there's not enough study/proof that running can be a major cause of arthritis. In my opinion, it goes as you age, the older you get the more you are prone to it.

Im not really an expert regarding this topic but i think that high-impact running routine can be associated with a greater risk of joint deterioration....
So I guess, it will be good for us to do it in moderation.

I'd been researching about this for a long time, and it's all the same thing. There's really not a proof yet that tells us running can be dangerous or can be a cause for arthritis.

hmm. I know nothing about this issue. but I guess what I have to say is just be more careful so that you can prevent any injuries from happening, and just continue what you love to do (which is running)!

Running does not cause arthritis. Although running does not cause arthritis in healthy knees, if you have arthritis it will make things worse. Running is a high impact activity generating forces five to seven times body weight on your knees and hips. If you have arthritis, it will accelerate the wear, damaging your joints further. If you have arthritis and are overweight pounding the pavement, you are even more likely to make the wear process worse.
