Hello everyone,
I started wheezing just recently due to my sniffles, the thing is I really want to go jogging today, do you think this is a bad idea? I've had asthma since i was a kid but usually it's triggered by colds. Any advice?

sometimes getting the body warmed up kind of loosens things up and
whenever I feel sick what I do is to get up and go for a little work
out and running. But you have to assess if your body can do it, consult
your doctor first Georgina ,

oh and is your asthma exercise-induced? If yes then you better postpone your plan, coz i'm afraid it might only worsen your condition.

it used to be exercise induced but i noticed that after jogging for a couple of
months it stopped acting up during jogging and as i have said earlier it only acts up when i have sniffles.

Have you asked your doctor about it? Jogging is good for the health and your cardio respiratory functions. I have an aunt who suffered form asthma her entire life and his doctor advice him to at least do some minor jogging but of course not the type of jogging that is done by people who have no respiratory problems. My aunt's condition became better she rarely experience breathing problems. I think you should check first with your doctor but for now maybe you can jog but only for a few miles to avoid stressing your system too much. Hope you get better! see you around

Running do help in some of asthma cases. But you still have to check things with your doctor before actually doing this type of exercise. Running is a good for the body but there are some exceptions which must not be ignored.

You better consult your physician first. That's the better way of ensuring that you are fit to do a certain exercise, you might not even notice that asthma is attacking you already.

I know you want to jog for your own personal goal or just keep your body fit. If you really want to do this on a regular basis even if you have asthma, try setting a plan for yourself slowly towards your goal. Proper breathing exercises will also be a great help for your asthma when you are jogging or running.

If you have asthma it is better for you to undergo check up first. some doctors would recommend proper exercise to stimulate proper breathing and develop your respiration. I am not sure though if running is one of them so just ask the doctor if running is not one of the exercises then you should do as he/she instructed.

I Know some people who have asthma and are still active in running. Most of them were advised by their doctor to regulate respiration. According to them it really helps them to breath properly and reduces the risk of having a grave attack. It's alright to run if you have asthma but a doctors go signal is definitely needed.

i have allergic rhinitis, it's not as severe as your asthma but just like yours it's triggered by allergens in the environment.. it's been bothering me for several years now bec. there are times when i cough really hard i puke but when i'm running i feel really good and now i don't cough as much as i used to and i think partly it's bec. of regularly running.
