Fifth Environmental Fund-raising Mini-Marathon

Organizers are hoping to raise around BD1,000 in the Fifth Annual Environmental Fund-raising Mini-Marathon on Friday. More than 200 people have already registered and around 300 more are expected to join the marathon which will start from Jawad Dome in Barbar.
The proceeds of the marathon will go to Bahraini Charities as well as raise awareness about environment protection. The event was organized by the Jawad Dome and is held under the patronage of Southern Governor and Commission president Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The said marathon which raised BD500 last year will have two race distances which are 5km for nine years old and above and 8km for 16 years old and above. Registration is open at the Jawad Dome until Thursday, from 10am to 2pm and 5pm to 9pm.
