Zhou Chunxiu won the London Marathon in the women's race last Sunday within 20 minutes and 38 seconds. She was the first Chinese to have won the London Marathon.
Zhou, who won last year's Asian Games champion in Doha, pulled away after 37 kilometers, beating former 10,000 meters world champion Gete Wami of Ethiopia and Romania's Constantina Tomescu-Dita to second and third places.
Zhou was the fastest woman in the field with a personal best of 2:19.51 when she won the Seoul Marathon last March. In 2005, she became the first woman to run four sub-2:30 marathons in year.
