Top Brands Partner with Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Ser

WEDNESDAY, 30 MAY 2007

Elite Racing, Inc., the nation's leading producer of marathons and half-marathons, announces New Balance, Saturn, Sugoi, Crocs, Oakley, PowerBar Gel, Accelerade, and Soyjoy have all signed new multi-event partnerships with the San Diego-based sports marketing and management company.

"We are excited to welcome our new partners as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon," said Bruce Herring, president of Elite Racing. "Elite Racing's events offer value and direct interaction with an engaged national audience. Our formula works and continues to attract the attention of many destination cities throughout North America, which means our partners are able to reach out to a growing demographic of healthy, upwardly mobile consumers."

With its signature Rock 'n' Roll Marathon series, Elite Racing produces six musically themed running events coast-to-coast, creating a unique marketing platform for top companies looking to tap into the health and fitness market. Existing multi-event partners include Foot Locker, Spenco Medical Corp., Southwest Airlines, Garmin and Avis.

In 1998, Elite Racing introduced a new brand of running event with the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary on June 3, 2007. The race blended entertainment, health and fitness, charity and tourism. In the following years, Elite Racing established a new event approximately every two years, and plans to add more musical marathons and half-marathons to its national series in the next few years.

The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon series literally turns up the volume on the traditional running event. Two days prior to race day, thousands of runners and walkers browse a "Health & Fitness Expo" complete with products and educational clinics related to active lifestyles. Race day is a city-wide block party for the runners and spectators, featuring live bands and cheerleaders at each mile along the course. Following the race, participants, as well as their friends and family celebrate to a headliner concert. This year, SEAL will perform at COX Arena in San Diego for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon's post-race celebration. Past performers include Chris Isaac, Brad Paisley, Sara Evans and the Counting Crows.

Currently, the company's six events attract more than 130,000 runners and walkers annually.
