The 2007 Bay View Family YMCA Kids Marathon will be on September 16, 2007, Sunday at the Frontier Field. Kickoff party begins on August 11.
The Bayview YMCA is teaming up with the Preferred Care Rochester marathon for a unique program that will help kids learn how to run and to help the whole family be more passionate about health and fitness. Likewise, this marathon is an opportunity for young runners and walkers to participate in a marathon modified just for kids.
The kids will undergo in a 5-wk program which leads to the main event. During the program, they will run 25 miles and get a reward for every 5 miles that they will accomplish.
For interested participants, contact Kim Smith at kims@rochesterymca.org or call 671-8414. No experience is necessary. Anyone between the ages of 6 and 12 who is up to the challenge of completing a full-length marathon over the course of 5 weeks is welcome to participate.
The party begins on August 11 at 10 am at Bayview YMCA in Webster. Pay only $20 and enjoy a shirt, medal, certificate, rewards and even more goodies.
