Denver Marathon(TM) Announces Online Auction
WEDNESDAY, 26 SEPTEMBER 2007

The Denver Marathon announced that the Celebrity Inspiration Run Online Auction will begin at 8:00 a.m., Friday, September 28. The online auction will give members of the community the opportunity to Bid online and run alongside the celebrity who inspires them the most during their approximately two-mile portion of a relay during the Denver Marathon on Sunday, October 14. Winning bidders will also be invited to attend a motivational Celebrity Dinner with their celebrity on Saturday, October 13. All proceeds from the online auction will benefit each of the celebrity?s charity of choice.
The Denver Marathon Celebrity Inspiration Run was designed to encourage everyday people to find the inspiration to run with someone they admire while benefiting a worthy charity. Following is the list of the celebrities participating in the Denver Marathon Celebrity Inspiration Run and the charities that will benefit from the Celebrity Inspiration Run:
- Rowdy Gaines, Gold medal-winning Olympic swimmer. Charity: USA Swimming Foundation.
- Bill Romanowski, former Denver Broncos player. Charity: Make A Wish Foundation.
- Alex Smith, cast member of MTV's Real World Denver. Charity: Colorado Parkinson?s Foundation.
- Scott Elrod, cast member on ABC's Men in Trees. Charity: Max Fund.
- Jake Schroeder, lead singer of Opie Gone Bad. Charity: Denver Police Activities League.
- Marni Rachich, Peekaboo Screech on the Denver Roller Dolls. Charity: Safehouse Denver.
- Vic Lombardi, CBS4 sportscaster. Charity: Family Tree of Denver.
- Maggie Ireland, Miss Colorado 2007. Charity: The Patrick Foundation.
- Chris Anthony, extreme skier and star of 17 Warren Miller films. Charity: Davis Phinney Foundation.
- Ami Cusack, cast member of CBS Survivor 9 Vanuatu. Charity: Make A Wish Foundation.
- Whitney Gustafson, Broncos Cheerleader. Charity: Susan B. Komen Foundation.
- Stephen Keel, a Colorado Rapids defender player. Charity: Colorado Rapids Community Care Foundation.
- Dave McGillivray, Race Director of the Denver and Boston Marathon. Charity: DMSE Children Foundation.
The online auction will end at 12:00 a.m., Sunday, October 7.
