Canada - Elite long distance runners settle into their new home - a four-storey mansion on High Park Avenue, to train for the Olympic Games in Beijing qualification draft picks. The marathon house’s construction was supported by Brooks Canada Marathon Project (BCMP) and was officially opened last Tuesday.
BCMP, through its founders Mike and Paul Dyon, invested $1.5 million in providing Canadian distance runners the opportunity to participate in the Olympic Games. The Marathon house is considered as the home of the Canadian runners during the course of their rigorous training. They are provided with food, housing, equipment, travel and medical support, including performance-based financial incentives while they train.
