2008 Oceania Masters Athletics Championships

Townsville, Australia - The 2008 Oceania Masters Athletics Championships will be held at the Townsville Sports Reserve from the 28th of July to the 3rd of August. The Townsville Sports Reserve is located at the northeastern board of Australia, and is known for its IAAF certified eight-lane, 400-meter track. It is a popular venue of prestigious track and field events.
The seven-day event will feature 100-400 meter sprints, 800-1,500-meter runs, long jump, javelin, hammer, and discus for both male and female athletes. The cross country eight-kilometer run is scheduled at 7:30 in the morning on July 31. The championships will be finished off with the half marathon finals on the 3rd of August.
